Photographer
Seen on eBay recently, cast brass shoulder title OFFICIAL AIF PHOTOGRAPHER.
Is this original? And when worn? Thank you for looking, Keith

Hi Keith,
Had hoped to locate a photo for you but it was only of an AUSTRALIAN/WAR/CORRESPONDENT title. An OFFICIAL/A.I.F./PHOTOGRAPHER title was worn in the Middle East as black embroidered lettering on a khaki slip-on from late in 1941 as a result of a request for identification by the AIF Military History Section. I haven't any information on a metal title for them but the Australian War Correspondent metal title was worn in the Middle East at the same time so I can't rule the metal photographer title out. I note however that the metal war correspondent title was of much neater manufacture and the AUSTRALIAN was straight, not curved. Regards, Keith |

The AWM would probably verify it for you. I think it looks dubious.
