Default British HSAT Para Helmet Decal

Good day

Crossing over from the unknown badges forum in case someone here might know....

I have a post war HSAT with sword decals on both sides. They seem to be period decals, not a recent add on. I thought it might be from a Para Unit in the London Div but am having no luck finding anyone who knows.

The decals have the sword with the point up, not sure why the picture keeps rotating.

Default HSAT decal

Two possibilities or guesses.....

39 Signals Squadron (V) had a small parachute element and they were London based and wore the City of London red dagger on a white shield on the left arm of the pullover in the 1980s (I don't know about earlier during the HSAT era.)

The Infantry Demonstration Battalion wore a white upright sword on a red background as a shoulder patch, in the late 1970s/early 1980s (but I can't recall the precise dates).

I will be very interested to see if other people have better information, as it is an unusual helmet.

These helmets were also worn by the Swedes, Belgians, Israelis and perhaps others, Greek? Rhodesians? Maybe it is from there?

Colin

The Infantry School badges have more of a No.7 bayonet on them so it is close but not quite. I havent found much on 39 Sig badges but now I am rethinking the London angle as their badges are a Red sword / white backing which is out by 180. Thanks though and keep the ideas coming.

I am thinking not Commonwealth use, perhaps Israeli or South Africa as the bayonet is not a Commonwealth looking bayonet.

I'm thinking its more of a Sword than a bayonet. St Pauls sword has the reversed tangs on the guard, and the London Regiment is predominantly red and white colours .... but the background is usually white....

I havent found anything with Greek, SA, Rhodesian or Israeli. Yet...
