Inniskilling Fusiliers cap badge
Hi All,
Can anyone help me with this please, I bought it thinking it was ok then when it arrived I changed my mind. Now having searched the forum I'm totally confused as I've seen what seems to be an identical one where people have said it's good and another where it wasn't. It does have a crimp mark on the slider but no braze holes. Thanks for the help, Michael |

Unfortunately, I must say that in my opinion that is a bad one. Although sweat holes are not always present on these badges, I would prefer to see them.
Also, the slider is not what I would expect to see on this badge and the shiny finish as well as the poor rendition of the castle all add up to bad badge. CB |

Thanks CB,
As I say I was thinking the same when I saw it, especially when I started reading posts saying there should be windows visible on the towers and the castle door not being very detailed but then got all confused by this post: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ling+Fusiliers Thanks a lot for the help, Michael Last edited by Shiny; 01-08-19 at 07:52 AM. |

I think that particular example is unlikely to be original based upon the photographs, the white metal is really awful and lacks any significant detail whatsoever, I would seek a refund if I were you.
Incidentally, I should not be too concerned about braze holes, I had had a considerable number from South Africa, originally worn by Thackeray's brave lads, that do not always have the clearly defined holes that might be expected, the regiments 1st Battalion fought a really bitter engagement upon Hart's which soon became known as "Inniskilling" Hill.
