Default Somerset LI Pagri badges

All,
Recently obtained this badge and note that there are apparently two types; one with XIII (13) and one with the standard PA within the strings.
Any ideas on the significance (if any) of these two styles?
Thanks much,

CB

Different periods of use. There is a Boer War SLI Pith helmet in the regtl museum with one of these one.

The PA was worn in WW2 on the slouch hat I believe.

Thanks for that Alan, I thought my badge ( or rather Flash ) to of an earlier type.
With regard to Pagri Flashes in general, I suspect that ww2 era examples usually have the design or letters etc. machine embroidered as opposed to the hand stitched work on earlier examples.

I note that the two examples shown are by the same Madras maker! I assume these are ww2 era flashes as the PA would indicate....
Were they stationed in the Madras area at some time?
