Default Tower Hamlets glengarry officers hallmarked silver

hi all
i have had this badge for years and now thinking of moving it on.
firstly, i would like to know what you think the date of the hallmark is?
its a little banged up and been broached at some time but what do you think its value is?
as mentioned i will be selling it and will list on this site first but would entertain reasonable offers for it
thanks in advance
bc

Hi bc,

My money would be on William Dowler as the Birmingham silversmith known for military objects with date letter k for 1884. Shame it is missing the top of the crown.

Swap you a Rising Sun collar for it🤔

Cheers Dean

Lololol
Thanks dean.
I've toyed with the idea of getting it repaired for years. I guess I'm nervous the silversmith will stuff something up.
Better off a new owner undertake any repair
