I posted these pics earlier this year in the Australian section as 'KG Luke Melb' is the maker of my 'rising sun' badge. Similar question though as in this thread.

Hi guys
From my research, it would seem that K.G. Luke made badges from the early 1920s going into full and large scale production from the start of WW2. I would doubt he had any contracts with the govt or armed forces pre 1939.
K.G. Luke was a self made man, going into jewelry/badge making as an apprentice at age 14. The first records of him owning his own shop was around 1920. He was really small time until WW2 when obviously production took off and his post war business boomed. He was a very well known dignitary in victoria, Australia and was knighted by the queen. I am not sure when LUKES stopped production but have a feeling it was in the 1980/90s.
The point I am making is that in Bosleys current auction, item 102 is an Australian Jewish chaplains badge listed as WW1, made by K.G. Luke. This can not be the case and I would suggest it is a ww2 badge
