Indian cavalry badges
A question for Indian cavalry experts. Are these badges genuine?

Indian OR badges are Indian OR badges, and as long as the buyer does not expect the quality found in a proper die-struck British badge, you will not be disappointed.
They are "just different" and, unless the provinence is known, you really do not know if it is an actual badge or one just poured by Abdul on a hot, boring day in Amritsar. DrB |

You mean a comment on all of them(?) or a specific badge. I am not sure I understand what 'these' means. I have bought (and continue to) buy stuff from Michael and I haven't had any issues with what I have got so far. As far as his Indian stuff goes, I can't say, but I am sure he will stand by his business ethics if something turns out to be incorrectly described or is not authentic. |

Well thats a 'leading question' isn't it... As far as Mike is concerned, yes, they are. As I mentioned, once you start (assuming you buy some) to handle them and get a good look at them 'up close and personal' - if they arn't, then take it up with Mike. He has never knowingly or unknowingly sold me anything that has turned out to be a fake/forgery etc. I am sure he will re-imburse you should you feel that it isn't 'as described', It is difficult for me to understand where this all going. Do you want someone/'the forum' to make a judgement on every single Indian cavalry badge that Mike is selling? Ask PeterT, he is far more able to pass judgment on Mikes items than I am. I am not sure he will though. Thats me done on this subject. Good luck.

Thank you again, gentlemen!
You know, I've asked about the badges' authencity, 'cause there a lot of fakes. Indian badges - it's a minefield.

many of the badges Arctic Medals is selling come from a collection which I sold to him not long ago. [Mistakes in attribution - ie: dating - if any, would be mine, not his.]
I've had them for 30 years and have always been satisfied that they were genuine: 30 years ago there were few badge fakers and almost no one interested in Indian badges. They also match in quality and type the vast majority of IA badges I've ever seen. Sadly, the quality of IA, except for the rare silver badges to officers, are not rarely of the quality associated with British badges |
