Default Fattorini Bradford O.C.A. ?

" They Win Or Die "-" Who Wear The Rose of Lancaster " Numbered 667910

Made by Fattorini Bradford, am thinking an Old Comrades Association, but could this be perhaps to a single Regiment? Numbered 667910 Servicemans number? and to what era, looking at this its possibly for WW2 as such a long number, presumably WW1 would be shorter?

Any help with this appreciated, many thanks Billy

The motto is that of the 55TH (WEST LANCASHIRE) DIVISION.

One of the badges in the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum is from :

"Private Arthur Parkinson, 241635" (WW1)

Army service numbers from 1920 onward had 7 or 8 digits , is there possibly another digit on the badge ?

The King's Own Royal Regiment 3701001 - 3757000

The London Regiment 6515001 - 6825000

NB. "Every serving soldier was allocated a new number in this system and the soldier then kept this number for the rest of his army career."

Is it possible that the soldier initially served/enlisted in The London Regiment and then transferred to the KORR when The London Regiment was disbanded in 1938 ?

PS. If I am completely off track please let me know as it is the only way I'll learn things !

Whilst the London regiment ceased to exist in 1938 the existing Battalions were transferred to be TF battalions of the KRRC, RB, RF and in the case of the 10th Bn the Berkshires.

My opinion is that the number on the rear of the badge has nothing whatsoever to do with the soldiers service number. Far more likely to be a pattern or patent number

The makers mark is raised , so would think that patent/pattern number would be the same.

There appears to be a Reg.# at the top of the badge , partly obscure by the button hole fitting which has been bent/twisted.

Other (service number ?) has been stamped after the badge was produced.
