ID / more info please
Good afternoon,
Sorting through miscellaneous badges/buttons and have come across some that I would like to have identified or need further info. IDL badge 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd, Regent St, Birmingham'. I don't think this is military (my first thought was Imperial Defence League but couldn't find anything. Possibly xxx xxx Ltd?) MOTH stickpin I know this is the Memorable Order of the Tin Hats (I found a very informative thread on the forum) but this badge has 'POB' which I can't figure out (xxx Old Bill?) Alf's Button - According to Wikipedia there was a novel published in 1920 called 'Alf's Button' about a soldier with a magic button (based on Aladdin's Magic Lamp). It was made into several films, one with Leslie Hanson co-founder of ENSA). Was the 'button' film memorabilia or was it a good luck token for the armed forces in WW2? APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN GOOD LUCK CHARM The National Service GGLBB badge - Girl Guides/Boys Brigade? Normally I associate National Service with WW2 badges but possibly not this one - GIRLS LIFE BRIGADE WW2 - JUST FOUND AN EXAMPLE ON BOSLEYS WEBSITE Many thanks in advance Steve H Last edited by Beaker123; 26-05-20 at 03:43 PM. |

"The Old Bill of the Order is appointed annually by the Full National Executive. The position is an honorary position, and the holder of this award, may be invited to take the chair at the Annual General Meeting of MOTH General Headquarters. On completion of his term of office as Old Bill of the Order , he may continue to wear the precious metal badge (Gold Tin Hat), for the rest of his life." OLD BILL OF THE ORDER AWARDS .
