Default Anglo French Alliance Belt Clasp Victorian?

Hi
Wonder if anyone can help me with this? Please see attached photos. I acquired this clasp with other Victorian Belt Buckles from a reputable militaria auction house. They do not know what it is!
Shows an English and possibly French soldier shaking hands the strap encircling the soldiers reads as follows.

England feels confident that the united powers of the two nations will restore the peace of the world.

On the reverse of the clasp is the following.

Alliance Belt Clasp Haworths Patent.

Gilding metal Measures 55 mm width x 62 mm height. Could it be Crimean war first world war?? I am puzzled.

It is certainly unusual and any help in identifying would be much appreciated. Many Thanks
Steve

I notice a crescent between the flags which could be the Turkish forces that were one of the allies in he Crimean War. There may be some reference to sardinia as well, but not sure what to look for that would refer to them. The uniforms of he two soldiers are also Crimean period. So perhaps a Crimean piece, or post war celebration piece?

Terry

Hi Stephen
Many thanks. Well spotted. I had completely missed the mark you refer to. within the strap. Tried to make it out under various magnifications... without success however the general shape and format is identical....exact lettering cannot be determined. So may well be Victorian registered trade mark. Will try to get a photo on to the thread later.
Well done
Steve

Hi Terry
Many thanks for your reply. You are probably bang on with the Crimean or post Crimean celebration piece can't see either allies actually wearing something like this as standard unless as you suggest for celebration or ceromonial after the war. Stephen has also spotted what could well be a Victorian registered trade mark at 6.o'clock on the strap. Trying to get a photo to show this on to thread later.
Cheers
Steve
