Default Commonwealth Division

Hello,

Here is my badge from the Commonwealth division in the Korean War.

I've just got one question, was this type of badge made in Japan privately like other UN forces did? and was it designed to be worn on the brassard like the issue badge or on special parade uniform?

Anything non-Belgian is a mystery to me so if anyone could clarify one of the above that would be great!

Thanks
BP

I have read that most of these were made in Japan for soldiers on rest and recreation leave or those returning to their countries. That's the best that ùi can say.

Jo has the gist of it. These bullion wire patches were private purchase, bought by soldiers to wear on their battledress (or service dress in the case of officer's).

I deliberately pointed to the thread in my previous post since it addressed Brigade Piron's question regarding where the badge was worn.
