Default WW2 German Formation sign

This appears to date from around 1940 and is possibly Luftwaffe, but I cannot find any record of it on the internet.

Any thoughts welcome.

A hesitant, tentative suggestion; ground crew from a Luftwaffe seaplane unit, based along the coast and used for picking up downed crews at sea etc. Such units did exist, I came across one operating out of the port at Pillau (Neutief), East Prussia, whilst researching the German evacuation from the Baltic in 1945. Not sure how helpful this is, could be barking up the wrong tree...............

Maybe it’s a very long spare rib and that’s the divisional symbol for the chow truck.

No, I think that she is uprooting the PLUTO pipeline that brought fuel to the beaches of Normandy after D.Day. A very small and short lived unit.
