Default LRDG on ebay

Any thoughts on this one chaps. Having just purchased an original with provenance, this one came up on ebay the same day. What do you think?

See listings for cpmil. I would put up a link but it keeps linking to my ebay page which I do not want public.

Cheers Paul.

Totally agree. The double ridge is a bad sign.

Default LRDG badge

Friends,

The originals have much finer detail and, indeed, the double rim is a bad sign, as is the rusty colour. I would not put any money on that badge. I believe no badge was reproduced so much as the LRDG one. Please compare to the originals on this Forum and notice the differences.

Cheers,

Johan

Regarding LRDG repros in general - There used to be a US catalog, Lancer. They carried LRDG, Selous Scouts, Paras - all sorts of reproduction badges.

A reproduction, I'd have to say. One of the telltale signs of this variety of repro is the evenly spaced lines on the scorpion's back, laid out like a grid, imitating scales. The originals have a more lifelike representation of the overlapping rows of scales on a scorpion, which are not evenly spaced.

Regards, Donovan (castagain)
