I use self adhesive fablon type material ( which I use as a backing to my displays of metal badges) on the back of cloth badges

If a piece is cut to size and stuck on the back of a cloth badge, as the material is impervious it can be glued to a display board with Pritt or a similar adhesive. The Pritt wont go through to the cloth badge itself and when required the fablon material can be peeled off the cloth badge leaving no damage.

Please don't use any non water soluble glue or Bluetac on the back of cloth badges, it tends to stay there forever.

( The Fablon also stops further fraying on cloth badges where this has already begun )

Peter:

What is this grenade shaped Artillery patch? Could you please post a clear scan of it?
Thank you.

BP,

It is a badge made for the Drum major of 103 Lancashire Artillery Volunteers who wore a RHA uniform and that badge was worn on his busby, I will try and post a close up of the badge as soon as possible.

I have tried various display methods over 40 odd years of collecting. Had them in frames, etc. I settled on these methods a few years ago. Wife is now happy and so am I !

Nice treasure in those draws Del!

My wife likes scrapebooking and I use some of her double sided tape to affix cloth insignia on my display boards.

Attached is a photo of my 2 CDO board to give you an idea of the finished product
