Hi all
I just came across this thread, is the second Airborne cloth title or Tab(US term) Yellow on Black felt? If so 101st Airborne Division had Tab and patch's made during the war. There were many variations of this but it does remind me of one made for the 101st. This could also have been used for 17th US Airborne and US Ninth AF(Airborne) Troop Carrier Command. Below is one from Daniel Griffin site: http://griffinmilitaria.com/cgi-bin/...status=&title= Here is one in my collection, I have it under US Airborne at this stage as this came from a US Airborne collector. All comments welcomed. Phill Phill |

Phil,
I am pretty sure the US tabs are smaller with a slightly more curved shape and are a more golden yellow whilst the British RASC titles are longer and a paler yellow.

Thanks Jerry
It was just a thought. Below is a comparison in size, colour and also variations of colour cable/thread used do exist from yellow to gold. Phill |

RASC/RCT Air Despatch units only ever wore the yellow Dakota on a blue background as a formation sign with the AIR DESPATCH titles worn below them. They never at any time wore AIRBORNE titles or Pegasus formation signs.
