Default SAS Cap Badge WW2 & Para Wings

I believe that this is a WW2 period SAS cap badge but not really my area of expertise so would welcome comment.

I have no idea about the period of these wings so again any help in dating them(appx) gratefully received.

Thanks

Mark

Default SAS cap badge

Hi Mark,

Could be WW2, but I believe the SAS cap badge is post war. That pattern was worn for a fairly long time until the sixties or so. It did not change a lot since 1944.

Cheers,

Johan

The parachute wings are both WWII pattern, but continued until at least late fifties.

Mark,

I agree with Johan on the SAS beret badge, it is definitely old, late ww2 and 50-ties badges are hard to distinguish, it is the look and feel that is important and if you have provenance that is of course the best. In some ww2 badges the colour of the wings also turned greenish but no hard and fast rule.Sometines they also have a paper backing. I do not exclude it to be ww2 but tend to early post war.

Very nice badge whatever the era.

Cheers,
JB
