Default ARP UNUSUAL BADGE

This large ARP badge in a gold colour is one I cant find reference to as to who wore it and where ie cap badge ?Can anyone shed light on it

Not a style of ARP badge I have seen before and not one of the British patterns. Officially only government approved ARP badges should have had a crown. The pin on the back suggests use in a hot climate on thin material. My guess would be India or somewhere similar.
