Default 7GR title

Hello,

I picked this up today at a car boot. Just a couple of quid for it. It's tiny - approx 23mm wide and 9mm high. I guess it's Gurkha, but knowing that everything is faked today I wonder about this example? It has a bronze look to it. I assume it should be black(?), and I think I can see traces of black on the inside edges of the number/letters, but it has footed lugs, which I've been told is a sign of a copy? I would appreciate your knowledge with this item. Many thanks.

Default 7 GR

Hi there RSM , I'm pretty sure that the title is OK - there were a number of variants and sizes worn from 1950 > 1994. (Prior to 1950 the title would have been just 7G) They were all made in Black Metal but I've seen several that look "bronze" after some service wear. No great value but you might double your "couple of quid" Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me. Happy to learn I got a good one and didn't pay over the top for it. Another for my collection. Thanks again!
