Unknown badge found in the ground
The attached winged lion badge was found in the ground. Not to far from it a machine gun (perhaps Bren gun) was found. Can somebody identify it?

Thanks Simon,
Could it be Canadian? This area was liberated by Canadians. Polish could alos be possible. A bomber dropped its bombs there, most likely when it was in trouble. Perhaps it also dropped the machine gun (could be a Vickers as well) and the badged was lost by a crew member. Regards, Dirk |

Sorry, not Vickers, not Polish and not Canadian. And before you ask, not German or French Napoleon military either. It is not military but some sort of 19th century ornament. Maybe from a chandelier or a cast iron heater or some such thing?
