Middle east commando opinions please
Hello Folks
Purchased recently the items in picture 3 from the same person unfortunately not an ounce of provenance with them .I'm pretty certain the knife and sheath are spot on ,however the badges are out of my realm so any opinions most welcome |

In my opinion the badges are both fakes.

The lugs on the bottom badge are a great indicator of what not to look for in ME Cdo badge - they are what are sometimes called the 'nail' type with indentations in the shaft. The other looks dubious too. I would return them if you have the chance. I can not comment authoritatively on the knife but would have concerns if all came from the same source. The sheath looks a little unusual in terms of colour and finish.

Thank you gents for the quick responses,I still have faith in the knife and the finish and colour of the sheath is due to it still being damp from sitting in a bath of neatsfoot oil which seems to have arrested the decay it was undergoing the blade is also shorter and thinner but most of the pitting is gone now ,it really was in a deplorable state when i got it and as everything i buy comes from car boot sales they can all live in a case as representative examples !

I agree,
The badges look like the common fakes to me. However the knife (despite the dark image) looks fine. Attached a couple of images of correct pieces I have sold in the past. Cheerio, Roy
