Ive got a couple of badges made by Grove Mfg (manchester and RA beret) both with a metal slider fitted over a stub and then squaushed to hold it in place.
Im sure a friend has a kc pioneer corps badge in his staybrite collection,i cant recollect whether its illustrated in Peter Taylors book or if its mentioned in K&K.

They are -

* Please note that the Q.O.G.T.R cap badge is in anodised aluminium and is NOT listed in Peter's book.

Thanks Colin,

These look good to me too - yes, the Queens Own Transport item is another to collect.

One thing this data capture stage is doing is picking up some unusual items not known to previously exist.

Chris

Looks like a good, early anodised aluminium badge and one that I wished I had in my collection.

I'll put it up on the web page later.

Many Thanks !!!

Chris

Hi John,

My main collecting focus is in the German WWII Iron Cross and Assault Badge market with a secondary focus in the Imperial WW1 Iron Cross and Wound Badge area.

Anodised aluminium cap badges are a hobby of a hobby if you like and I seldom spend more than 25 British Pounds for them these days as the other German stuff is so damn expensive.

Your best bet would either be eBay with GOOD scans from a dedicated scanner or from a QUALITY camera or put it through one of the auction houses such as Bosleys at:

http://www.bosleys.co.uk/

I could swap it for a nice WW1 Iron Cross but suspect that I might well be ripping you off but there again, I have no idea what this is worth as I have never seen one for sale which means it may well do very, very well at auction.

I was going to release the Corp web page soon - can I include it?

Regards

Chris

Default KC anodised Pioneer Corps badge

Never realised that there would be so much interest in such a small badge. I've got absolutely no idea what the value is, but no doubt will get a good idea shortly via these pages. However, if anyone has a Royal Irish Fusiliers Pipers,or Royal Irish (or Ulster) Rifles Officers cord boss badge, they would do a straight swap for, call it a done deal. Otherwise, I'll see what it might be worth.

Regards to all
John

Hi Guys,

Corps page has been released.

I have a silver Intelligence Corps badge coming to me so will put it up when it arrives.

If anyone has any missing items that they would like to add to the page then please let me have then with a white background if possible.

Regards

Chris

Continued from my previous post;

1st Pattern Royal Horse Artillery (gold aa with seeded scroll)
2nd Pattern Royal Horse Artillery (silver aa with seeded scroll)
3rd Pattern Royal Horse Artillery (silver aa plain scroll)

there is a 4th Pattern that has a solid EIIR in the centre.

Gents, just to add my input so to speak. I too have one of the KC pioneer anodised badges above, which is exactly as the one pictured. I too believe it to be very scarce. (For info, I also have an all black version of the last pattern pioneer corps badge in AA).

With regard to the Gurkha transport Regt in AA, I also have a Gurkha army service corps badge in AA, which is similar in design with the obvious word changes (also have the collars).

With regard to the RHA badges in AA as displayed by 54BTY, I also have it as a gold AA cap badge with plain background, slider by LB&B company.

Any thoughts gents?

Bess
