Default Para Helmet

Hi All

I just opened an old bag that i left at my parents house back when I was a kid. In my youth I collected old military helmets, and in this bag there was a para helmet with an insignia on it!

My question is do you know this insignia?

It is a helmet, steel, airborne troops, MkI. I do not recognise the emblem but it seems to show the flag of Denmark.

Default Para Helmet

Hello ThePete,
Concur, HSAT MkI. Judging from thickness of inner foam liner, probable small size. Nice helmet, excellent condition. Early leather chin harness. May want to glance at http://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2015/0...e-helmets.html . Conjecture, other flag possibly British Commonwealth (Shield scraped off, possibly Canada?). Rampant lion open to question. Worn by exchange personnel?

I just took some more pics. You are right, it is very small in size.

Hi Jim
Thanks for the info, I just took some more pics. You are right, it is very small in size.
Your blogspot was very helpful. I'm from Denmark and I got the helmet from a Major in the Army back when I was a kid. I have been on another danish forum, there is some talk of the first Canadian Para Brigade, and that they were the first to get to Denmark, me by this has something to do with that.

Danish flag is red with white cross

Could it be the flag of Normandy ?

Could be Danish, hard to tell.
Pure guess, I suspect that the transfer is a victory souvenir type thing rather than a military insignia.
