Default Malta defence corps

Gentlemen
I would like to share this nice cap badge , it’s quite heavy and looks to be made of a silvered type by Gaunt .
Can anybody tell me about the markings on the back?
Kind regards Chay

Hi Chay

Malta Civil Defence officers pattern cap badge.

I would hazard a guess that the P could stand for 'Plated'.

Definitely a lovely badge Chay!!

The one I own and others I've seen are of a thinner gauge from what I can make out from the images, and none had the makers mark with the "P" at the back.

I'm envious

Vincent

P.S. Could "P" be referring to Prototype??

Plated, for sure. See Gaunt badges with it all the time.
