Kent Cyclist Battalions Old Comrades Association
Hi,
Pick up some medals recently to the Kent Cyclist Battalion and with them came this nice association lapel badge made by Collins, London. Did the battalion every wear a specific Kent Cyclist Battalion cap badge or did they wear the Army Cycling Corps badge? Also, would be interested to learn more about what cloth badges the Kent Cyclist Battalions may have worn. Thanks for any help. Andrew |

Hi Michael,
very nice badge. As I understand it, Kent Cyclists wore this badge circa 1908 - 1920.( KK 1867): Cheers, Tim |

It's the same design as the West Kent yeomanry. I have heard talk about the angle of the horses head differentiating the 2 units badges but that's twaddle in my opinion. They are mere makers' variation.

I have a variation of this somewhere, with the horse mounted separately IIRC.

Hello Andrew
I know you were asking about badges but just out of interest here is an image of a brass button worn by the Kent Cyclists. Roger |

The only cloth badge I'm aware that the Kent Cyclists wore was a pagri/puggaree badge - two examples illustrated with another in situ. The Old Comrades Association also had a blazer badge. Back in 1995 I was privileged to attend a service of remembrance for the KCB at Canterbury Cathedral though it was the first occasion none of the surviving members attended (I think there were just three).
