In answer to your heading question - a very rare HG badge worn, as the previous reply says, by the Women Auxiliaries of the 1th Denbigh Battalion HG of whom there were only 90.
Naval and Military Press has just republished the battalion's history Bureaucrats in Battledress which refers to the women's uniform and badge. The Imperial War Museum has an example of the BD worn by the unit which is shown on its website as "Blouse, Battledress (women’s): Auxiliary Leader, 11th Denbighshire (Ministry of Food) Battalion, Home Guard" http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30097199 Jon |
