Hi, anyone know what period this badge comes from?

I can't say with 100 % certainty, but to help narrow the possibilities would suggest the badge was worn by 'Other Ranks' sometime prior to 1967.

I say above as I lived in Bahrain with my family from 1967, and I can't recall seeing that particular type of metal badge being worn either by officers or other ranks.

Post 1967 Commissioned (Gazetted ?) Officers wore silver or silver plated collars (British made) of same size as that shown in your picture but with lugs to reverse, and against a red felt backing. All ranks post 1967 wore a much larger better defined heavily chromed badge with slider and red PVC backing.
