Default Arab Legion Photos in Colour.

From the Life Magazine files, some excellent colour photographs showing members of the Arab Legion, their badges and titles and uniforms.

Those are nice - hadn't seen that method of wearing the headcloth before with the spare corners crossed behind the head and tucked up in the agyl

The medal ribbons are the British GSM for Palestine 1945-48 and the Jordanian medals for the 1948 war with Israel.

Here is a similar set belonging to 1255 Aref (Cpl) Odeh Mjeid of the Arab Legion.

Is there a date for that Life?

Eddie

Hi Eddie, I found some similar photographs from the same photographer and the date was 1st December 1956.

OK - nice pictures but not a Palestine Policeman - they are actually Arab Legion Police. Same badges, only the helmet and collar numbers mark them as police. Can anyone read what the chest badge visible in one shot reads? Something Police?
