Default Post office auxiliary Letter carrier 1865 Questions

An item out of my usual collecting area it just took my fancy.

A quality retirement plaque to an auxiliary Letter carrier from St Johns Wood London. Presumably from a clock or item of furniture note sturdy pin to the rear.

Around this time the post office started to wear the blue uniform with Shako hat

Looking forward to any information proffered non military but appears to be an interesting item non the less

Regards

Stephen
