Not really a badge collector, but had this one for 25+ years.
Its 39mm, pin backed, Hallmarked for Birmingham 1917, maker marked JR Gaunt & Sons (JRG&S) Obviously the KDG adopted the new badge in 1915, they moved from the Western Front to India in late 1917, so was this an officer getting an old design badge for service in India or is it a sweetheart badge? Is it a headdress badge being slightly smaller at 39mm ? (shown as centre badge of the 1915 and the 1938) |
