Medical patches as in the photo , I have seen black back ground red outer circle, black and tan back ground with a white outer circle and the one pictured what are the differences if any one knows ??

The one you have with the khaki background was unique to Australia.
Britain and other commonwealth countries had a dark blue/black background. Please post pictures of the others you refer to and I will help identify |

Its an original badge obtained in the UK. I was unaware that it was also used in Australia but that makes sense as many badges were worn similarly across most of the Commonwealth Countries regards

Yes Red Circle one.
Age depends on construction. The Naval one is probably still in use. Sick Berth Attendant, RN I think regards

As mentioned, the right hand one is navy.
The middle one with white ring on black is for volunteer army units (such as RAMC(V) and was also worn by VMSC(Volunteer Medical Staff Corps) and possibly other commonwealth volunteer medical units) The left hand one I am not to sure about because of the background colour (appears to be grey!). I would suggest though that it was also for a volunteer unit having the white circle. Steven |
