Silver LRDG
Theres a Silver LRDG badge on Ebay (sadly to say sellers from Northern Ireland) marked Silver, ends in 3/4 of an hour and at £74 anyone watching this?

Just looked to see what it went for, not a nice looking badge poor lettering "LRDG" but someone paidc £134!!!

I know am gutted, makes me! feel bad! he also sold Silver marked Artist Rifles and Silver Officers Tank Corps but the badge had a Gaunt Oval Plaque integral to the badge? This looked good will find a picture of them, all the best billy

Hi Billy, I think you know the answer, they are all fake. The cap and collars were only made in bronze. A person in the seventies used to gold plate the collars to go with a gilt version of the cap but this was a cast copy, being a couple of mm. smaller. That said, there were some gilt collars made in India or M.E. but these were cast from a different pattern collar, hope this helps Mike

Could you clarify, are those particular collars fake, or, are they originals with the addition of the gold plate you mention?

Hi Frank, as they are presumably silver they must be cast copies. If you are talking about the gilt collar they were very well gilded on original collars as at that time, 1970's they were not expensive, hope this helps Mike
