Question Cheshire Officers Forage Cap badge?

Hi all,

I picture below a Cheshire regiment badge in mint condition. An eight pointed star pattern silver and gilt two piece badge with green enamel backing as per K&K 1960. The badge has two long lugs consistent with wearing in the forage cap and is 30mm x 30mm with no makers mark.

So the picture of K&K 1960 is of a much larger badge as the Royal Lincs FSC badge next to it I have - I take it the one depicted is for wear on the White F.S helmet and is the Officers cap badge and the smaller Officers Forage Cap badge is not illustrated.

Can someone please let me know if I have this right?

Cheers Dean.

I may be completely wrong but somewhere at the back of my mind I seem to recall reading that the Cheshires copied the Guards and adopted this small size officers badge which was worn in both service dress and on the full dress cap.

(might have been in the "Regiment" magazine issue on The Cheshires which I no longer have )

Dean, a good few years ago on a day out in Chester I saw a Cheshire Regiment Serjeant wearing this smaller enamelled badge in his beret!
Cheers Tony.

The full sized Officers badge was first used in 1888 and withdrawn in 1890, reissued in 1923. From June 1950 Officers began a half size badge of the same design
