Thanks OC14,

The bagged example of Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers 12/07/07 is important as so far as I know, it is the last known packaged up anodised aluminium cap badge issued to the British Army.

I have an example myself which is shown in my Packaging chapter.

Any information on later bagged FIRMIN (or any other packaging at all by any other manufacturers) gratefully recieved.

Regards

Chris

I can certainly confirm a Firmin Queen's Own Mercian Yeomanry badge - I was issued with one in 1979 and still have it.

Chris

I received a couple of Royal Artillery Anodised Beret badges this week from a Royal Artilery Unit. They are both still sealed in their Firmin & Sons Ltd plastic bags with all details printed on the packaging. One of them is 26/06/08 and the other is 24/03/09 so Firmins have only just finished making anodised badges or they are still in production for some units. I can let you have pics if required.

Thank you very much OC14.

Will get back to you when I get back to NZ.

Did you manage to find the date of JSP 768? (Think this was the number)...

A close up of the mark. The back is flat and the lugs are distinctive.

Hi Alan,

Any chance of an angle shot of the lugs?

I'm looking for flat or sweeping feet.

Regards

Chris
