WWII Era German Shoulder Strap?
Does anyone know what this is please?
The "strap" is of dark green and silver cord (I think dark green is the original colour rather than being faded black). The "pip" appears to be a German army shoulder strap rank star, I don't know if the cord would originally have had a fabric backing. |

I don't believe it is WWII, seems to narrow - can't see anything in reference book on German WWII shoulder straps that matches. Could be of Imperial vintage.

Thanks (there were WWII era straps or cords worn by various German organisations that were that narrow, just a couple of loops of braid, but none that I can find of that particular pattern).
It could even be the central part of a strap detached from its backing and surrounding braid? I'm guessing it's a non-military item if it's WWII-ish but if it's earlier perhaps military. |
