Canadian Legal Trade Badges
Hi
I am curious to see if there is current or past Canadian Legal trades insignia besides the Air Force half wing. Also, is there a legal trade cap badge without Mylar? Just in the regular yellow thread instead of the gold? Any pictures would be appreciated. Thanks. |

To start, there is an enamel/gilt badge that was issued early in the CF period.

Thanks, Bill. I had forgotten about the metal cap badge. Yes, I doo have that one.
Are CF lawyers still wearing collar badges? For that matter, are collar badges still worn at all? |

Yes there are collars worn on the DEU.

There are the private purchase embroidered (not mylar) officers' cap badges.
From what I recall, the mylar cap badges replaced the NCMs' embroidered cap badges. I don't think there was a "thread embroidered" issue for the Legal Branch. Phil

As Phillip points out the gold(en) wire badges are a purchase item, usually worn on the beret. I don't know of an "issued" cloth badge. NCMs serving within JAG/AJAG retain their own branch badges (Logistics, Navy, etc)
There is a current metal badge worn by RCN Legal Officers in the peak cap / bowler. I'm not sure if this is a different pattern than the one Bill mentioned? Pretty sure it's affixed with a slider. Cheers, Adam |
