Default Cut down Derbyshire Yeomanry title

Hello Yeomanry collectors,
This shoulder title puzzles me. The "T" has been cut but for what reason?
I know this was done to some of the Territorial Infantry titles.
Thanks,
John

During WW1 many Yeomanry raised Second (1/2nd) and Third-Line (1/3rd) regiments which remained on Home Service or as a training unit.

The T was sometimes hand modified into a 1 by the First-Line (1/1st) men, many of whom volunteered for overseas service and experienced combat.

It's not in Westlake.
During WWI the regiment became 1/1, 2/1, 3/1 Derbyshire Yeomanry, post WWI the regiment became a unit of the Tank Corps,at At the beginning of WWII it became the 1st Derbyshire Yeomanry, perhaps the T was changed to a 1 at that time.
