Default Great Yarmouth Grammar

I bought these cadet badges a while ago out of a box of odds and ends. I've always thought them to be collars because of the fact they came as a pair, albeit not quite an exact match, and their relatively small size (3.8cm length). However, an identical one sold at the recent Bosleys auction and it was described as a cap badge. They are die cast bronze on lugs, I think pre-war.

Would be grateful to know if anyone has a view on this - are they cap badges? I also have a button from this school, does anyone know if a shoulder title exists?

If, as seems likely, they are cap badges then I will probably look to sell one if anyone is interested.

Thanks
Paul

Like most cadet units pre-war they obtained their own badges, so I would suspect that the same badge could be worn as both cap and collar badge. The variations in size being maker's variations. If you have one that is maker marked going spare I would consider letting you make me an offer of sale!!!

If only they had used camphones in those days we might have found pictures more easily.

Hi Paul, nice badge you have there, I would like to join the line of people who would like to buy it, but I have one, so would be buying it to swap. There is not a smaller or facing pair type.

I think the subject of OTC/Cadets officers collar badges is something that there appears to be a lack of reference material about.

I dont know if the badges the subject of the thread are cap or collar badges and I am still trying to positively identify the badge the subject of this thread:

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=68991

If anyone comes across pictures of OTC or cadet officers wearing collar badges, I for one would be grateful if they would post pictures in a Schools, OTC and Cadets thread.
