Hunter SA
In the paragraph titeled "Parachuting" in the Hunter Group history it is incorrectly stated that only 12 silver metal wing badges were made.
At the very first wings presentation parade at the Drill Hall in Johannesburg brig.Mentjies presented 18 wings to the Hunters who had qualified including myself. I unfortunately had to leave owing to changes in legislation so am not sure how many may have been presented subsequently but one author has written that there were a total of 28 produced (inciuding the 18). I would be very interested if any of the old members could inform me of the correct amount of wings produced. |
