Default Is this buckle British?

Maybe someone can tell us what this is, when it was worn, and by whom.
Thanks.

Hi Kingsley,

Norman Litchfield in his The Militia Artillery 1852-1909 shows an identical set of crossed guns, with a similar grenade above, being used as a general pattern pouch badge by the militia artillery of the British Army, and notes that it is described thus in the 1853 Regulations.

It may well be that it was also worn as a belt buckle badge. It could of course also have been worn by the Russians, or French, or one of the other European artilleries, or even the Volunteer Artillery of the British Army.

Keith

if you agree, I could show it on a French forum
