Default RAOC 1947 1st pattern Anodised Cap Badge

Good Morning

Just trawling through a few dealers sites and noticed that Steadythebuffsmilitaria just sold the holy grail. Several questions come to mind, especially as it was a complete badge, unbroken. If i had seen it when it was still available, i'm not sure i would have had the bottle to purchase it or even if i could afford it. Someone did and i wonder at what price.

Steve

Oh noooooo!

Plenty of collectors have been looking for this for many years and I am sure I’m not alone in my disappointment and heartbreak for missing this sale!

Congratulations to whoever bought this beautiful rarity. Wish it had been me and still hope to find one eventually.

On trying to see Steady The Buffs site, this is all I get:

Please can anyone provide a link?

Many thanks

William

William

Are you using a Secure VPN online? I’ve had messages like this trying to access some sites and found temporarily switching off my VPN seems to help.

All the best

When the badge was listed, it was "Price on Request".

Me too. I bought mine from an Australian dealer and the shipping was more than the badge but it has one arm missing.

3 here on here with members, 1 was on a RE camp office wall described as experimental and 1 in a private collection 40 years ago, unless someone knows different.

Why do dealers use " POA " ? Are they too embarrassed to show the ridiculously silly price of certain items ? They don't want to be seen, as ripping the collector off.....

Never saw this example for sale, and do not know what I am willing to pay, but it would be in the low hundreds I think, as I do not have a bottomless pit to play with. It is entirely possible it was out of my league anyway...

I'm informed that the price is private between the seller and buyer, so unless someone knows who bought it we'll never know, at the end of the day its up to the buyer to decide how much its worth, for me some badges are far too expensive considering everyone and their dog seem to have one.
