Hi All
Reviving this old thread as I believe the badge I first posted has been identified. While corresponding with another navy collector he identified it as worn by officers of the Australian Navy Police in the 1960s at least. When they first started wearing them and for how long I still don't know.
Cheers,
Alex

Page 290 of Kit Muster details that silver wire naval officers' style cap badges and rank lace was worn by Australian Naval Dock Yard police.

Hi Barry
Thanks. I'd never heard of that book until now but it seems to seal the ID.
Cheers,
Alex
