Printed SAS wings
Out of interest did anyone see how much the printed pair of WW2 SAS wings sold for in the badge auction last week ? While I do know that there is some correspondence in the National Archives to say that one was possibly produced there is nothing to compare the one that was up for sale with so it may or may not be the real deal.
It would be nice to know if another one has ever been seen or not. Does anyone know? |

I didn't see the final price but when I last viewed the auction it was over 1k. I hadn't come across a printed SAS wing until I saw this auction. I do have a printed parachute wing that is similiar to the SAS wing but have yet to see photgraphic evidence of either SAS or parachute wing being worn.

Printed SAS wings
I have been told that they sold for nearly £5,000 which suprised me. Would it be possible to post an image of your printed para wing as it would be interesting to see if it is the same material as printed shoulder titles.

Hello All
I believe the final price was £4,834.00 - Acquired by a well respected member of our Forum I think. I hope my information is correct. Regards Mike Last edited by Mike B; 28-09-22 at 04:54 PM. |

If it is Keith who has purchased these wings, he usually knows his stuff. Is there any known Provence for these or the para version? Whatever, 5k is well outside my budget.

Thanks for the replies Gents. I don't know if my printed Wing is good, bad or just plain ugly but it is unusual that these would be made for reenactors as they're are usually pedantic about the whole ensemble looking as authentic as possible. I can't see a printed Wing giving that effect.
5k is an awful lot of money! Paul |

I heard about 5K once.....
Glad I am not collecting Airborne any longer or SF, I struggle at times for bits in my areas of collecting. But have never been one to whine about what I can't get or don't have and am just thankful for what I am able to have. For who ever bought it, I am happy for them, and pray all is right with it.
