Default Firmin Buttons & Ribbons

I have bought a collection of these because I like them, the buttons vary in size but are around 19mm, most are metal and maked FIRMIN one is black plastic.

But I'm left with a couple of questions.

Are they in any way official or just souvenir ware?

Do I have the full set?

Can anyone put a date to them based on the Regiments and Corps represented?

There are a couple for sale on the CADETDIRECT website [Worcs. & Sherwood Fors. / Light Inf.] They say that they are made for them by a MOD approved supplier. I'm afraid I can't do links and I have no connection to the sellers.

Rob,
They are likely to be this set:
Here is the original sales flyer for the Danbury Mint set of "Regimental Buttons & Ribbons of the British Army”. As it includes the KRH, PWRR, RGBW and RLC it is post 1994. Purchased by subscription each button with ribbon cost £5.45 and there was a frame available for £25. So 68 buttons plus frame cost about £400.

Thanks Tim, that looks like the set, is there a connection between Danbury and Firmin?

Rob,
Yes, most of the cap badges in the Danbury Mint set (anodised with folding blades) were made by Firmin. Danbury Mint marketed all sorts of other collectibles.

Hi,

This is the set. My dad got me these years ago and they all came in those little individual packets.

Nice to display but a bugger to keep dust free

Hi Bill, it does look good framed, I'm tempted to do mine but perhaps with glass?

Could you show a close up picture of your Royal Irish Regiment, I'm not sure why mine seems to be a second Irish Guards Button rather than the correct pattern.

Hi Rob,

My frame with miniature medals is behind glass and looks better but this one is a bit bulky for me to get glass on.

I've looked at mine and you are right, they're both IG buttons. Never noticed that when I got them but I wasn't really into buttons then.
