Australian Navy Police officer badge
Hi All
A collector friend recently ID'd this silver bullion wire RN style cap badge as having been worn by AN Police officers in the 1960's at least. Can anyone please confirm this and what were the dates it was in use, or is it still in use? Thanks in advance, cheers, Alex |

Hello Alex
John Perryman's book "Kit Muster" on uniforms and badges of the Australian Navy 1865 to 1953 has a chapter on Naval Dockyard Police. There is a small photo of a badge that appears to be similar to yours. The text indicates the badge with a Tudor crown was worn by the Superintendent and his Inspectors from March 1949 to at least 1953 when it then converted to the QC after the accession of Queen Elizabeth II.
