The conversation has never been about the men who fought, died, were wounded or suffered PTSD at Gallipoli. The conversation is because so many people including those who work in government departments won't use the correct spelling which is spelling the word with capital letters. People including atillathenunns can spell it whichever way they like but it doesn't make it right.
We have a city here that can cause fights over it's name, Some call it Derry, others Londonderry. It is a beautiful old walled city with a fascinating history.
Many of us have now compromised, calling it Stroke City (Derry/Londonderry).
What the city is and represents is more important than what people call it.
In the same way the ANZAC/Anzac means a lot more than mere spelling.

Might be mere spelling to an Irishman but more than a mere spelling to an Aussie.
I notice that you conveniently never answered any of the questions in my fourth post.
Let me repeat the first one:
"Are you suggesting that New Zealand should be spelt as new zealand?"

Peter,
I thought I had answered your question.
The object is not how to spell New Zealand or Australia, It is to respectfully commemorate the bravery and sacrifices made at Gallipoli.
I would also like to remind you that the 10th Irish Division were there and also sustained heavy casualties.
My thoughts will be with those at Anzacweek, 18 to 25 April 2015 Wellington and with those at Anzac/ANZAC day Commemorations at Gallipoli and of course all those in Australia and New Zealand.
Eddie

No you haven't. I don't know how to simplify the question anymore.

No you're wrong. The argument is about the spelling of the word ANZAC nothing else.

Last I knew they weren't ANZAC's and so aren't part of the argument.

Peter,
I think we have came to the point where we must accept that we are not going to find common ground so I will wish you good night.

Not wishing to pour oil on this most interesting, but rather heated debate on use of the ANZAC “acronym”- I found the following link most informative in regards to its origin and usage.
https://www.awm.gov.au/encyclopedia/anzac/acronym/
Regards,
Zob.

Looking at your punctuation I would think studying correct English would rate higher.

You don't seem to have many bigger things in life at all but then again you do live in New Zealand or is it new zealand. Oh that's right it's the question you fail to answer.

The Collins dictionary also spells the word Anzac.

Since you obviously have a mental issue and are therefore unable to answer any of the questions that were posted by me earlier I'll leave you to continue your drivel along with atillathenunns.
