27th Armoured Brigade?
Could this be the 27th Armoured Brigade's formation sign?

More likely the sign of Caribbean Area as depicted in Colonel Coles postwar Badges on Battledress.
The DR's khaki drill uniform would seem to support that. Jon |

The badge painted on his DR helmet appears to be that of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry whose 1st Bn was based in the West Indies from 1954 to 1957.

Jon,
many thanks, the photograph came with a lot of RAF personnel photographs that were taken in the Far East, but you never know if the photographs you buy from house clearance dealers have come from the same household. Simon |
