Rajput Pagri Badge
Both the 7th and the 8th battalions of the 7th Rajput Regiment were redesignated as Indian Artillery in early 1942.
The "Sons of John Company" states that the 7th battalion was redesignated as the 8th (Rajput) H.A.A. Regiment. I.A. on 1st April 1942, and the 8th battalion was redesignated as the 7th (Rajput) H.A.A. I.A on the 1st February 1942. I suspect that this pagri flash was worn by one or both of these units. Just out of interest, looked nice, original badges though not something I have much knowledge of - and very cheap too.

Further research indicates that this badge might be that of the 114th (Rajputana) Pack Battery, formerly the 34th (Reserve) Mountain Battery. It is also possible that it was worn on the upper sleeve of the tunic rather than on headress.

Further evidence is provided with this second badge that came with the Rajput badge. It is for the School of Artillery, India, which was based in Kakul, near Abbottabad. It specifically catered for Mountain Batteries.
