Default LIEUTENANTS COMMISSION - RAF 1918

Hi, I wanted to post these for forum if there is any interest. I picked them up a few years ago still in the postage tube the day they were sent. This one as you can see is the fledgling RAF in 1918. The other I posted in the Navy section as it is for the RNAS in January 1918.

Simon,

Being a bit of a sado, I have to confess that a have a number of Commission documents which I have had framed ( some with pictures, medals or badges to the officer they belonged to ).

They make ( in my opinion ) a very attactive display and a tangible link with the officers comcerned, perhaps my most interesting one I have is to an officer commissioned into the 1st Cadet Battalion,Kings Liverpool Regiment.

I would have thought that early RAF or RNAS commission documents would have been very desirable collectors items.

Peter

Hi Peter, those look really nice. I think I'll do the same, they should make a nice talking piece. The two that I have are actually I understand a relative of Oscar Deutch.

Now for you Brit's you probably don't know who at first he is. Well believe it or not....Oscar Deutch Entertains Our Nation....in it's short form....ODEON. Yes the cinema chain founder.

Thanks again for showing me some idea's Peter, I think I'll get myself some extra RFC/RAF RNAS badge and frame them the same.

Regards
Simon.
