Default PICTURE 39 OF 209 FROM ALBUM RAF BADGES

Have recently come across a cutting from an Oct 1946 Commonwealth News Paper re RAF Aircrew New Rank Badges. Thought the following quote my be of interest to you " Gold embroidered badges of a similar design will be worn on the new and improved pattern of service dress which is under consideration". Presumably the new dress didn't appear until the Coronation Parade in the form of the T/63, hence the gold badges were never used as by then the hated "Star and Garter" badges were history.
