Shoulder Slide Loops. Colors
Here are 2 pair of slide on shoulder loops. Yellow and Black. Can these be Id'd to a unit? Or within many Regiment's did these colors exist, meaning context to the larger unit would be needed to say who wore these.? The only context to these would be the other pieces which came with the group, WW2 era Scottish and Highland units. all input is appreciated.
Best Jack

Don't wish to sound too negative but you might have to wait quite a long time to identify these badges. There are numerous examples, the majority unidentified.
Early examples were used to distinguish the British parachute battalions in WW2 and by the Battalions, later regiments of the Royal Tank Regiment, a custom started in WWI They came into their own during the period of National Service in Britain where they were used extensively by training units to identify squads, instructors, levels of training, potential leaders etc. So widespread was their use that the RTR complained to the War Office Dress Committee that training units were using their flashes. I don't recognise either of those shown but like you would be interested in knowing who where and when. Jon |
